Antioch Police Search Barnes and Noble After Roof Access Hatch Broken

by ECT

At around 9:00 am Sunday, Antioch Police responded to a report of an alarm at Barnes and Noble off Lone Tree Way in the City of Antioch.

Police responded to the business where they used a drone to check the roof where they located the access hatch had been cut and possibly someone was inside. They requested Contra Costa County Fire to respond to borrow their ladder to make access.

Upon a search of the roof area and a K9 unit inside, it was determined no one was inside.

According to Antioch Police, with more of these types of incidents occurring, they are now using drone technology to provide eyes on the roof while officers search inside a business. They are also continuing to expand their drone unit with licensed pilots.
