On Thursday, the Antioch Police Department released the booking photo of Kamaljot Kaur, a 26 year old Antioch resident who was arrested for felony child abuse at Tobinworld II.
On January 6th, 2016 at approximately 8:43 am, Antioch Police Officers were dispatched to Tobin World for a child abuse report. School administration reported that a Teacher’s Aide had assaulted a student yesterday (1/5/16) and that video of the assault had surfaced on the internet.
Arriving Officers contacted and interviewed school staff members, other student witnesses, and the victim, a 9 year old resident of Oakland. The victim did not have any visible injuries or complaints of pain.
After conducting interviews and reviewing the cell phone recording of the incident, Officers determined that a felony child abuse had occurred.
The Teacher’s Aide was identified as Kamaljot Kaur, a 26 year old Antioch resident. Kaur was contacted at her residence in Antioch and was taken into custody. There is no picture available at this time.
According to Antioch Police, Kaur was arrested for felony child abuse and booked at Martinez Detention Facility.

In an earlier statement by interim Antioch Unified School District Superintendent Stephanie Anello, she stated the video had been posted on social media which showed two Tobinworld 2 staff and students–Tobinworld is a non-public school that contracts with school districts throughout the East Bay to serve students with Special Needs.
The School District has confirmed that Tobinworld 2 notified Law Enforcement and an investigation is currently under way.
“At this point we have determined that the student at the center of the video is not an AUSD student,” said Anello. “Upon learning of this incident, Antioch Unified School District sent our staff members to Tobinworld 2 to provide support to our students and parents. We have also contacted the Contra Costa County Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) and asked that they look into the matter. We take all instances of student safety seriously and will ensure that appropriate and decisive steps are taken as determined by the outcome of the investigation.”
Anello also stated that according to Tobinworld staff, Kaur was fired while AUSD staff who were dispatched to the school reported that she was not on site today.

Tobin world is the only school that will take them… think about it… most of these children are extremely aggressive.
Because it is a school for special ed kids all over and if the Tobineworld location is full wear the childs address is then he or she gets bused to a different location and Actually I believe oakland CA dont even have a tobinworld site but it looks like this poor Lil boy would have probably been in better hands and safer in Oakland #neverJudgeAbOokByeTheCover
if you look closely in the video you will see others punching and laughing and restraining the boys will allowing the aid to hit and continually hit the boy they too should be brought up on charges

As much as I am not for busing this kids into other school systems… This is NOT the issue in this story…. Tobinsworld is a private school.. They can bus kids in from out of stars if they want.. The ISSUE is that a child, a special needs child, was attacked by an adult and the other adults DIDNT DO anything to help him! What is wrong with you people???? Put yourselves in this boys shoes for one second….. No one had his back… I don’t care what he did before this video started….if the aide doesn’t have the intelligence to walk away to deescalate the situation.. She and the other aides shld be locked up! Just disgusting! We as adults have to do better!
Honestly anyone who says anything negative about this video or try to make it like why is he in a Antioch school if he lives in Oakland or how we don’t need anymore kids from Richmond and Oakland in Antioch and all that shit you are just as pathetic as the adults who did this no matter were a child is from or how the child acts there’s is a reason for everything he got sent to that school for a purpose you don’t no what his life’s like at home he may be being abused by his parents or parent no matter the situation this young boy and all kids in that school need special attention and care and they deserve it them fucking punk ass teachers get paid to help him not be pieces of shit!!!. Why work in a school for special needs kids if your gonna just hurt them why why why!!!!! Just like the question why have kids if your gonna just miss treat them!! No matter what a poor young boy was bullied by grown ups it’s sick and sad and that young boy will most likely grow up to hate teachers and adults because of this violent act that happened to him!!!
