Antioch Police Proactive Detail Nets 5 Arrests, 1 Firearm on Wednesday

The Antioch Police Department continued their efforts to reduce crime in the by patrolling the streets during a proactive detail operation.

Wednesday, police made 5 arrests, conducted a probation search and during a vehicle stop on Mokelumne Dr and Badger Pass located a firearm. The male passenger (photo above) was a 21-year-old male.

During its proactive details over the last year, the Antioch Police held 13 operations netting 80 cases with 82 people arrested with 7 guns seized and 331 enforcement contacts.

Antioch Police Chief Allan Cantando has credited these proactive details as a big contributor to why crime has been reduced in Antioch because you are taking people off the streets who otherwise may commit other types of crime.
