Antioch Police Officers Association Set for Charity Poker Tournament

by ECT

On Saturday August 17, the Antioch Police Officers Association will be hosting their 2nd Annual Charity Poker Tournament to help fund multiple events aimed at assisting underserved members of the community in need this holiday season.

The poker tournament will allow participants an opportunity to engage with officers at the poker table while helping raise funds for the community. The event will feature raffles and auction items.

Funds from this event will help us host the “Trick or Treat With APD” event which thousands of youths and families attend. It is at this event, officers create a haunted house inside the police department and many officers in different departments are in attendance engaging with youths while handing out gift bags and candy, and enjoy games and even a K9 Demo.

Funding also helps keep their Holiday Food Drive possible as last year they provided 70-families with a complete holiday dinner and other relief.  We also helped 13-families with our Adopt-a-Family program which provided a Christmas dinner, Christmas tree along with gifts, clothing, jackets and other items.

None of this is possible without the help of our community who help make these programs possible through their generosity and participation. If you cannot attend the tournament and still want to participate, cash donations and toy donations are always welcome.

Tickets are $65 (or $25 for dinner only) and are limited to the first 150 players. Payouts are provided to the top 3 finishers in the tournament at $500, $300 and $100.
