An unidentified 20-year-old male is recovering from a gun shot wound from an incident that occurred Wednesday morning in downtown Antioch.
On Wednesday March 19, Antioch Police responded to reports of numerous shots fired in the area of W. 5th and J Street at 11:42 am. When officers arrived an area check was performed and no subjects were located—they did find shell casings in the area of 900 Block W. 5th Street.
A few minutes later, Antioch Police were dispatched to a fight located at W. 2nd Street and G Street. At that location police located a unidentified 20-year-old male with a gunshot wound. The victim was then transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Leads to the identity of the shooter are being investigated. This incident may have been narcotics related.
