Antioch Police Investigating Social Media Threat Against Antioch High

by ECT

An incident occurred at Antioch High School on Thursday that prompted a social media threat against the school.

According to school officials, the District was made aware of the threat Thursday evening that was circling around social media and contacted Antioch Police who began investigating the incident.

Antioch HS issued the following notice Friday morning:

IMPORTANT NOTICE! Some information began circulating on Thursday night about our school. The Antioch Police were immediately notified and report that, at this time, it is unfounded. However, APD will maintain a presence on campus today and continue investigating. Thank you!

School officials say police have made contact with the individual and believe the threat is not credible at this time, however, there will be a heavy police presence around the campus Friday as a precaution and to ease concerns from parents.

On Thursday, a brawl-like incident occurred on campus behind the baseball fields which staff and principal Louie Roacha intervened which resulted in a police response and at least one arrest. It is unclear if that incident was related to the threat.

No further information was made available.

Just so everyone is clear, the incident Thursday was a full on brawl. Nothing from the District about this. Nothing from APD, nothing. No transparency and now many people are keeping kids home. Antioch HS is a mess and no one knows about it because they keep the info on lockdown.

Antioch HS had like 5 fights on Thursday. Why are parents not being notified? What is the school doing to ensure safety of students? Instead, it is swept under the rug

My daughter graduated from that terrible school four years ago, and it was bad then. Unbeknownst to me, she cut classes half of her entire senior year, because all the ghetto rat kids made the school experience too stressful for her to cope with. She would have anxiety attacks in class. She still managed to graduate because she maintained good grades on all tests. She’s now an Honor Student in College. I don’t recommend these schools to anyone. I still carry guilt for putting her through that experience. I’m a full time single Dad, so I was always working to support the two of us.
