Antioch Police Investigate Fatal Motorcycle Crash

by ECT

At 11:16 am Saturday on Contra Loma Blvd and St. Francis Dr., Antioch police responded to a report of a motorcycle crash.

Upon arrival, police located a 22-year-old male in the center divider who was pronounced deceased on scene.

According to Lt. Vanderklugt, the 22-year-old was riding with two friends and early indication are the motorcyclist lost control after hitting the curb on Contra Loma Blvd where he wobbled and then fell off the motorcycle and ended up hitting a tree.

Police were still investigating the crash as of 5:50pm and did not state if speed or experience were contributing factors to the crash.  No further information as released.

The road was re-opened just after 4:30 pm.

Editors note:  The photos show a very upset family member receiving news that a relative passed away in the crash. He was detained by police for his own safety and officer safety. After a few minutes, he was released and sought comfort with his family.  We encourage those on motorcycles to be careful regardless of your experience, actions do not only impact you, but family and friends as well. Our thoughts are with this mans family and friends.

I was there at this accident and this is a close friend of our family . How tacky of you to post this on Facebook and photograph his father and little sister and his mother during their most horrific moments . It hurt his uncles and family that you posted this before Genes body was even cold in the ground !
This made me sick and it’s such a disgrace that you claim they ” detained him” for his own safety . Liar ! As usual police are on power trips and they had no clue how to handle the situation with compassion or grace.

Any father coming on a scene and seeing is son in a body bag would have reacted this way. He wasn’t going to hurt anyone he was in shock and hurting . The friends of Gene understood this and love him and were upset and disgusted at how the police handled his entire family . Do you have children ? If you do than you may understand why a father would react this way . The police were not gentle or understanding. In fact other officers who were there also expressed how poorly he and his wife were handled . This is why the ” people” hate cops . This is why even certain cops hate being associated with each other .
He was just in our home moments before he died, it’s ok to post this when you wanna disguse it as a warning and artistic reporting but it’s not funny when you watch his best friends crying for hours blaming themselves for ever allowing him to ride . Blaming themselves for something that could have happened to the most experienced rider . They were not even speeding or driving wreckless . This was literally one small move that lead to the worst day of some of our lives.

As we all grieve you all wanna become famous with inappropriate comments and photos. Shame on you and may God have Mercy on your souls.

If you’re going to comment such an ignorant response about stupid kids on bikes can you at least learn how to spell? This is a comedic response, my guess is this is from a 12 year old pretending to know all their alphabets . With that being said , tell your parents to teach you how to spell. Because I fear your little ” Hinda Civic” won’t even save you if you can’t read enough to even obey a small traffic sign. And we can all tell our families to get us a ” Hindu or Himdi or Hinda ” or whatever that new Civic is that must have just come out . Moron! Heartless comments from an inexperienced speller . “Tell your dumb kids to get off the computer parents. ”

My hearts go out to all parties involved. This young man was a great man and he didn’t deserve to go this way . Nor did he deserve your ridicule!

Keep your head up hun. Your post made total sense to me. I lost my uncle to a motorcycle crash and he was vet, on a Harley , over 18 years experience . It can happen to anyone luv. I hear he wasn’t speeding. My heart goes out to you and his friends and family . Ignore heartless posts. Some people troll on these sites for a reaction . Ignore them. Mourn with your family. I can feel the pain in your post luv. My heart broke reading it.

While you sit around the computer all day picking the lint out of your belly button, trolling fatality sites pretending to be an e-thug and fearless behind that little keyboard. It’s clear your arrogance stems from you not being humbled in life quite yet, and what clearly is “tiny penile inadequacy” syndrome. What a scum bag you are RJB!!!!

This woman shouldn’t have to ever defend herself . So I’ll do it for her!

” LMAO, and calling her a Moron?” When someone had died says more about you than her!

Your base born impish comments just further provide us clues that your mother should have swallowed you and saved us all the waste of time your posts have proven you are .
You’re already your own catastrophe. Keep giving us your best though little-fingers RJB . I’m sure you will attack me now that I’ve defended a woman in grief . I think you are a loser and have no place on a forum. Heartless sack of crap!
