Antioch Police Honor Officers and Staff During 2016 Awards Ceremony

by ECT

On Thursday, the Antioch Police Department held its 2016 Awards Ceremony honoring many officers for their work performed over the past year.

Police Chief Allan Cantando stated that it was a great day to recognize its officers working int the community trying to make Antioch a better place for everyone.

“I don’t think our police department gets the recognition it deserves because we do not celebrate our successes. This is one opportunity where we can,” says Cantando. “As a police chief, this is very humbling and rewarding that people take it upon themselves to get things done and go above and beyond the call of duty.”

Commendation – Nahleen Cloninger

IMG_2231She received this Commendation for her role in the Arco hostage standoff last May 27 where a car was stolen, crashed and a hijacking at a gas station. Cloninger worked the main radio station and tracked the suspects cell phone, send out county wide bolo, organized a negotiations station, coordinated resources to the scene and worked the secondary channel.

Cantando called this a team effort, but having someone as talented as Cloninger in dispatch makes it a lot easier for everyone else to do the jobs that need to be done.
