Firefighters on scene were preparing for a water rescue and had boats available if needed, however, the male was quickly pulled from the water without incident. The male was then transported by AMR for further observation.

According to Antioch Police Corporal James Stenger, it was determined that the male intentionally jumped into the canal and because of this he was placed on a mental health hold.

By 8:30 am, units began clearing the scene and a portion of Lone Tree Way in the northbound direction was re-opened after the lanes were blocked by police and fire.
