On Monday afternoon around 4:00 pm Antioch Police responded to a motel on Mahogany Way after a man barricaded himself in a room after reportedly striking a female, damaging a vehicle and breaking the room window.

Police quickly secured the scene ensuring nearby rooms were evacuated before attempting to speak with the man. When police first made contact, the subject opened the door and quickly shut it in the officer’s face.

Police requested a shield for protection along with a response from Contra Costa County Fire protection District and American Medical Response as a precaution.

According to radio traffic, the subject had a history of mental issues, however, weapons were unknown. The women who was reportedly struck had parked at the Hillcrest BART Station parking lot to ensure her safety. As she returned to the scene, damage to the front of the vehicle and windshield was visually noticeable.

As police entered the room after about a 40-minute standoff, the subject was apprehended without incident and transported via ambulance to a local hospital.

No further details have been released by Antioch Police.

That guy looks like a second cousin of mine. I thought he was still in jail for rape and sodomizing a kid. I’m almost sure it’s him.

Just another Monday afternoon in Antioch.

Nice job Antioch PD. I think its a testament to how PD operates that no one else was injured.
