Antioch Police Department Welcomes New Hires

On Monday July 11, the Antioch Police Department welcomed four new police officers to the department. The police department now stands at 96 officers according to Chief Allan Cantando.

Here is a look at the officers bios:

Officer Matthew Davis:
Matt was born and raised in Lodi, California. He spent four years playing college football at Azusa Pacific University where he graduated with a bachelor of science in mathematics. After graduation, Matt spent four years being the operations manager of the restaurant Squeeze Inn. Matt completed the basic police academy at the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Law Enforcement Training Center in July of 2016. He won the top report writing award while at the academy. He has been married to his wife Morgan Davis for four years and they have two beautiful boys, Elijah (3) and Russell (1)

Wilson Delacruz
Wilson grew up in Antioch, California and attended Park Middle School and graduated from Deer Valley High School in 2003. After graduating High school he joined the United States Marine Corps. Wilson served one tour during Operation Iraqi Freedom with the Marine Air Ground Task Force. He also served time with the 4th Landing Support Battalion 1st Beach Terminal Operations Reserves, serving as a platoon Sergeant. He earned the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged. Wilson is still continuing to further his education at Los Medanos College. Wilson completed the basic police academy at the Contra Costa Office of the Sheriff Law Enforcement Training Center in 2016 with class 180.

Salvador Montanez
Salvador was born and raised in Stockton, CA. Salvador has two older sisters and an older brother. In 2008, Salvador graduated with his high school diploma from Weber Institute. He then went on to attend San Joaquin Delta College where he received an Associate Degree in 2011. Salvador was hired by Select Staffing in Stockton and eventually became one of the on-site managers for this agency. Salvador also worked for the Stockton Police department as a code enforcement officer assistant. In 2015, he was hired as a Police officer trainee for the Antioch Police Department. Salvador attended and graduated from the Contra Costa 180th basic police academy.

Quamaine Murphy
Quamaine was born in Suffolk, VA and lived there up until middle school. From there he traveled between Hawaii and Virginia due to his father working for the US. Navy. Quamaine graduated from Naples American High School in Naples, Italy. He stayed another year to continue playing basketball.

He then moved back to Virginia to pursue an Administration of Justice degree. Then in 2013 he was hired as a Deputy Sheriff for Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office.

Quamaine is married to his wife Austin of 1 year. Austin is currently in the United States Air Force.
