Yesterday, the Antioch Police Department celebrated National Dispatcher Appreciation Week at a county-wide luncheon for public safety dispatchers. They shared their great amount of respect for our dispatchers while thanking them for their tireless dedication and hard work in keeping us and the community stay safe!
In this picture with me are some of the Antioch Police Department dispatchers and members of the command staff. Please join Chief Allan Cantando in giving a special thank you to the entire APD Dispatch Bureau: Nicole, Vince, Stacey, Anita, Jeannine, Nicki, Jenn, Marla, Korina, Rachelle, Nahleen, Pam, Carol, Karen, Marsha, Steve, and Nicole C.

A giant thank you!
A dispatcher is the life line for our first responders. When my husband jumped off a retaining wall on a hill side and did a lateral dislocation of his knee (his foot was pointing to the side), the dispatcher on duty was able to determined who was screaming in the radio for help. I have heard the tape and I couldn’t tell who it was! She knew where he was and was able to direct the other officers to him and get fire dispatched. This is not an easy job, keeping track of several officers at the same time. Every time I see this dispatcher, I thank her again.
The front line first responders are seen and thanked all the time but they couldn’t do their job without the dispatchers. So Thank You. I do appreciate the job that you do.
Thank you for sharing, I know a few retired dispatchers and let me tell you, its a thankless job and they rarely get credit for the hard work they put in. The credit usually goes to police, fire, and ambulances, but dispatchers are a part of that team as well. Glad to see them getting some press.
Thank you dispatchers! They cover Brentwood also so double duty!!
