Very sad news for citizens of Antioch. Boise is very lucky. Best wishes.

I can’t blame him. I would hate working for a city council like the one Antioch has. These people haven’t got a clue and when blood starts spilling in the streets again as they work to undo all the efforts of this police department the past several years, the blood is on them, not the police department. Elections have consequences. Wake up Antioch and vote these crazies out. Lamar Thorpe must now be recalled.

Get off your knees

Sorry to see him go Aug 26, 2021 - 1:09 pm

What a monumental loss for Antioch! But who can blame Chief Brooks from leaving! The three idiots (one is on the council is there ILLEGALLY) are the ones who should be shown the door! Two of the remaining ones are OK. To those morons who voted for Thorpe, see what you’ve done? Now, the blood will really be flowing! It’s all your fault because you’re too stupid to do your research! So, don’t blame anyone else for the crime to increase in Antioch. Idaho doesn’t have any ghetto rats!

Farther down the drain Aug 26, 2021 - 1:09 pm

Now the clowns on the shitty council can hire some racist, blm activist to be chief. Watch how quickly the good officers leave the department!!! The city will slide even farther down the toilet!

Maureen Aug 26, 2021 - 1:24 pm

I don’t blame him for leaving! What person in his position wants to have to deal with TOTAL IMBECILES: the three stooges which comprise part of the Antioch City Council. Life is too short to have to deal with such crapheads! Boise, Idaho is a nice city where people respect the law. I’ve never seen one ghetto sewer rat there.

Let The Purge Begin at GOOD CITIZEN Aug 27, 2021 - 4:03 am

LAME’O Thorpe or Tamshit Walker’s alias is “Good Citizen”.. Antioch has gone downhill and is at it’s worst since these ghetto hoodstarz came into the city and started screwing things up. Chief T was the positive balance to these negative screw ups caused by the council. Hopefully whomever takes is place stands their ground and bulldozes these rats outta here. Good luck Chief T with your wondeful transition and it was a blessing having you here in what used to be wonderful Antioch. The people of Boise will be very appreciative.

Ralph Aug 26, 2021 - 2:13 pm

I don’t blame him one bit, city council members just proves you all have no backbone, I just hope that APD can rebound from this big loss 🤬🤬🤬

Sudsy Aug 26, 2021 - 2:43 pm

Congratulations to T. Brooks. Hopefully, our city will incorporate all the personnel Boise used to hire Tammany i.e. Police Union, reputable citizens and Police Officers to hire a new chief. Oh and it would be nice to hire from within, Officers that have worked hard for our community. Please surprise me, Lamar, and don’t push to hire one of your cronies to the post. We don’t want you here and I am highly suspect what type of person you would recommend. This is a test of your ability to have some class. Don’t disappoint again!!

Christopher Aug 26, 2021 - 2:45 pm

I don’t blame him for leaving. Having to with a garbage city council. I wish him the brst

Beatriz Lopez Aug 26, 2021 - 3:37 pm

Chief Brooks’ presence has kept this city from becoming a total shithole! With his departure, that’s what it will be. Watch crime increase! Watch more murders take place! We will be competing with Oakland (82 murders as of yesterday). Decent people are already leaving Antioch for other cities. Martinez is getting quite a few. Clayton as well. Brooks is leaving for a decent city and he deserves nothing less!

Roxanne Fox Aug 26, 2021 - 3:42 pm

I like Boise! I like Idaho! My favorite city there is McCall. The Shoshone Falls area is gorgeous! Chief Brooks, an RV enthusiast, will have a blast visiting that area. Priest Lake area is fabulous! I am envious about Boise being blessed with this great man, who has such a tremendous background. I feel sorry for Antioch and what it will become after his departure.

Lola Saavedra Aug 26, 2021 - 3:47 pm

I predict a massive exodus from the APD after Chief Brooks leaves. Time to head for the firing ranges to get in more practice. We will need that to protect ourselves. Sorry, to see you leave, Chief Brooks, but certainly don’t blame you.

Grace Allen Aug 26, 2021 - 5:35 pm

Antioch deserved a police chief like T. Brooks when it was a wonderful, viable city relatively free of crime. He has the best credentials of any chief before him. Today, with this city going down the tubes with all the garbage whch has moved here and they know which they are! Antioch, the way it is right now and in which direction it is heading, doesn’t deserve him! I’m actually glad he’s leaving for a much better venue.

Maureen Aug 26, 2021 - 5:43 pm

If you’re addressing me, GOOD CITIXEN, then YES! I am a TRUMPER! Always will be. Congrats to Chief Brooks on his new job! He will be fantastic. As to the the “FTFO?” I’m moving to HAWAII where I will enjoy the rain, sunshine, lack of FIRES, lack of DROUGHT while you will be breathing in SMOKE and farting around Antioch! Again, congrats to the wonderful Chief Brooks!

Street-Sweeper Aug 26, 2021 - 7:29 pm

Congrats on getting the fuck out of Antioch! I wish you well!

Antioch will now hire some puppet to run the dept.

Jean Noonan Aug 26, 2021 - 8:56 pm

I have been in situations where Chief Brooks gave presentations. He is extremely knowledgeable and superbly bright. With his background, I can see why he was snapped up by the Boise people. He will love there and greatly appreciated. Just can’t imagine him putting up with the three clowns comprising part of the City Council. They can’t hold a candle to Chief Brooks! Now, in his new position, he won’t have to deal with total imbeciles, but Antioch will be up shit’s creek without a pedal!

Juanita Williams Aug 26, 2021 - 11:10 pm

Good luck to my cousin! I know that you will do great. Much love and prayers for you.

Frances Aug 27, 2021 - 1:40 am

It saddens me greatly to see him leave, but I understand why he’s doing it. He is THE best police chief we have had thus far and I doubt anyone can replace him.

LoveableCurmudgeon Aug 27, 2021 - 4:08 am

Good luck to Chief Brooks. Our loss is definitely Boise’s gain. Great lifestyle choice for him and his family, also. I would do it in a heartbeat

Kim Shaw Aug 27, 2021 - 1:27 pm

I think not having to deal with the brainless defectives comprising part of this Antioch Shitty Council, will be a relief to our good Chief Brooks! He’s also going to a city which is pristine in terms of cleanliness. No trash on the streets. Neighborhoods are neat! Gorgeous scenery in every part of that state. No ghetto crappy sewer rats hanging around to deal with. Antioch used to be like that until trash from Oakland and Richmond and San Pablo started moving here! It quickly started going down the drain!

Gr8scot Aug 27, 2021 - 2:41 pm

Does anybody know if the city of Antioch can issue CCPW for the city only? If so, line up before Brooks leaves cause we good decent citizens are going to need them.

Ivor McDoughan Aug 27, 2021 - 2:52 pm

Congrats to Chief Brook and I’m sorry to see him go .. however, Idaho is a gorgeous state and Boise is beautiful and clean. No trash on the streets! Thanks to the influx of the criminal element into Antioch, this city is in shambles. We can work on getting rid of them one-by-one by doing whatever it takes starting with the trio (you know who they are) on the City Council.

Congratulations but this is a sad day for Antioch. Hopefully your new mayor and city council appreciate your leadership. Safe travels❤️❤️

Paul Chevalier Aug 31, 2021 - 1:25 pm

I am so envious of Boise! Great town! Now they will get the-best-of-the-best as Deputy Police Chief, soon to be Chief! I know people who are now getting out of Antioch as fast as they can. With Chief Brooks’ departure, Antioch is now SHIT CITY!

That Bond Girl Aug 31, 2021 - 1:34 pm

I’m pretty sure that GOOD CITIZEN is Tamshita, the creepy mayor and Shagoofa taking turns. All losers in life and envious of our great police chief and his accomplishments which they could never reach. Tamshita is the biggest loser and she knows it.
