Antioch Police Arrest Two in Connection With Homicide Case

On Thursday, the Antioch Police Department announced the arrest of two suspects in the September 1 shooting homicide of Raul Garcia, 57 of Oakland.

The shooting occurred on Sept. 1 at 9:20 pm after an argument between several subjects started in the east driveway of the Chevron Gas Station located at 1235 California Avenue in Pittsburg. The argument appears to be over a road rage incident.

The road rage incident continued into Antioch where Garcia was shot and killed in the 3400 Block of Rio Grande Drive.

Police identified the suspects as a 25-year-old man and 24-year-old female and with the assistance of Tulare Police Department SWAT Team, served a warrant in the city of Tulare in the 1500 block of Karen Avenue.

During the service of the search warrant, two suspects were taken into custody for the murder of Garcia and critical evidence was located.

Sergeant James Stenger said the investigations is on-going, and an additional information will be released with the suspects information once the case is reviewed by the Contra Costa County District Attorneys Office.
