Antioch Police Announce Arrest in May Fatal Shooting

by ECT

On Thursday, the Antioch Police Department announced the arrest of a 23-year-old man in connection with a May 21 fatal shooting where one person died and another sustained critical injuries.

According to police, on December 18, the male was taken into custody regarding this shooting murder where the suspect and victims met at Memorial Park to conduct an illegal gun transaction.

“During the gun deal a shooting occurred resulting in the death of 19-year-old Donovan Head and injuring an 18-year-old man,” said Sergeant James Stenger.

The suspect was interviewed and later booked into the County Jail in Martinez regarding this case.  Police said they were not releasing the names of the suspect or the injured male at this time.

Police said back in May that the two males who were shot arrived at Sutter Delta Medical Center where Head succumbed to his injuries after the suspect fired rounds into the car on Putnam Street. The injured party was able to drive the two to the hospital.
