On August 6, officers and detectives of the Antioch Police Department, in partnership with members of the Pittsburg Police Department, the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office and the FBI conducted a crime suppression detail in the City of Antioch and parts of Pittsburg. This operation was targeted at some of the high crime areas of these cities.

The entire operation lasted from early evening into the late night hours and yielded a total of 11 arrests for charges ranging from narcotics possession and sales to weapon possession and assault with a deadly weapon. In addition to these misdemeanor and felony arrests, 4 firearms were seized during this operation along with various amounts of narcotics.

Arrest Made in Recent Antioch Shooting

One of the subjects arrested during this operation was Emmitt Tippie.

Tippie was wanted on two outstanding felony warrants. He was also the suspect in a recent Antioch shooting (which occurred on 7/31/14 in the 1600 block of Sycamore Drive) where a 29-year-old female was shot in front of her apartment. Information was developed in the subsequent investigation into that incident that identified Tippie as the shooter. During his arrest, he was also found to be in possession of a loaded firearm. He was taken to the Contra Costa County Detention Facility in Martinez on his arrest warrants as well as charges of PC 245(A)(2) – Assault with a deadly weapon (firearm). The case is currently being prepared for filing with the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office.

Great Work!!! Regarding any and all gun charges. Can we really trust local courts to sentence these gun toting Thugs Appropriately. With so much gun violence in this country; you all would be suprised how easy going our local courts are on gun violence.

With the FBI involved hopefully these Thugs get a Federal case and do some real time.

B50: I don’t think any of us are surprised about how easy the courts are on ALL the criminals. We have been complaining for years and years. That is what is wrong with the court system.

Thank you APD and friends.

Where did Antioch go wrong??????? Aug 7, 2014 - 4:05 pm

It not the courts that are easy on the criminals. It the laws. You guys need to understand that there are usually sentencing guidelines that judges go by.

East County needs to double the size of Byron Boys Ranch to house the teenage mutants. Then build a new east county jail. The judges will fill them when they know there are empty beds waiting. Lets start a new assessment district for this.

Mutants? Comming from the older folks who should have helped in teaching these teenagers… Instead of discriminating against them. Sad for all involved.

Chuck (aka John from Kinghtsin),

It’s always about punishment and punitive actions. You most have been really loved as a kid…… Why don’t you take that krapp back over to halfway to concord where you are at home with the half wit haters. You make a good fit you ignorant —-.

We can call it the ” Reginald Jamal Brown Rehabilitation Center “. What do you think Reginald ? I’m for it.

As long as it’s on a remote island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and easily accessible to a nuclear air strink, if needed.

Death row has become permanent residence. They need to go back to firing squad and rope.

There you go again Chuck aka; John from Knightsin….. Why doesn’t it surprise me in the least that you are all about the punishment. It’s a scary glimpse into your intellect.

Wouldn’t you be better suited playing with marbles?

Contra Costa County has a liberal system with a revolving door. Don’t count on any of these criminals going away to long. Californians are big on rights which makes a breeding ground for criminals.

Just shut up already, who are you god. Taking a life because they waste your money? Write the president, hes in charge right?

cherry_crush94565 Aug 9, 2014 - 11:51 pm

With the way that “educated & established” adults talk, as if they have ANY RIGHT to pass judgement…. It is no wonder these teens & young adults have no sense of remorse or recognition. (Get a rope & a firing squad?) TRY getting a president that makes better decisions for the corrupt government that makes the laws. Or TRY teaching, since you all know so much.. I mean Im just saying. Im no angel, but I have learned the hard way. So I teach, instead of preach.
