Antioch Man Arrested in Milpitas With Loaded Firearm, 45 Grams of Marijuana

by ECT

On Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at approximately 4:05 A.M., Milpitas Police Department officers were conducting patrol checks at the Town Place Suites, located at 1456 Falcon Drive, when they discovered a white 1999 Toyota Solara parked in the east parking lot with the engine running.

Officers checked on the vehicle and they discovered the vehicle was occupied with a person in the right front passenger seat. Officers contacted Jasdeep Singh Birring, 22 of Antioch, and he identified himself with a false name.

As officers spoke with Birring, they smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. As officers investigated further, they discovered 45.7 grams of marijuana inside the vehicle and a loaded Berretta .380 caliber pistol.

Officers also located Birring’s passport, which revealed his true identity. A records check revealed Birring had several outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Jasdeep Singh Birring was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for being in possession of a loaded and concealed firearm in a vehicle, possession of more than one ounce of marijuana, providing a false name to a peace officer, and the three warrants.

Anyone with any information regarding this investigation involving Jasdeep Singh Birring or other incidents occurring in our city is encouraged to call the Milpitas Police Department at (408) 586-2400.

Information can be given anonymously by calling the Crime Tip Hotline at (408) 586-2500 or via the Milpitas Police Department website at: http://www.ci.milpitas.ca.gov/government/police/crime_tip.asp

What an idiot this guy was. Over and ounce of weed, a loaded firearm, and outstanding warrants. Seems like Jasdeep is in some deep s**t. At 4 am, there are only 2 kinds of people out on the streets, cops and crooks. Best of luck to you in the state pen Jasdeep.

This story was a waste of time. Marijuana? Really? And just over an ounce and a half? I love how they tried to make the amount sound like a big deal. “45 grams” sounds worse than “an ounce and a half.” Basically, he had a sandwich bag full. Wow. What crime did he commit? Who did he injure or harm? And why is someone carrying a firearm for protection such a bad thing? The criminals carry firearms all day everyday yet I can’t possess one to protect myself and my family’s lives? Get out of here!
