Antioch: Man Arrested After Beating Puppy, Faces Felony Charges

by ECT

The Antioch Police Department arrested a 23-year-old an in connection with beating a puppy on January 13, 2016.

According to Police, a citizen who was driving in the area of W. 8th Street and G Street saw William Landers beating and punching a puppy repeatedly.

Police say the puppy was in a red target shopping cart that Landers was pushing. Officers in the area located Landers and the puppy. The puppy appeared lifeless and could not move. Landers stated the puppy fell out of the cart and he was trying to administer CPR.

Animal Control responded and took the puppy to be treated.

The vet stated the puppy had body contusions consistent with being severely beaten, and its body temperature had dropped below being measurable. Based on the statements of the witness and vet it was determined that Landers had clearly beaten the dog. He was arrested and transported to county jail for felony animal cruelty.

According to Police Chief Allan Cantando, he said Tuesday that the puppy is now in foster care.

This is so sad. I love animals. Keep him in jail where he belongs, so he can’t harm anyone else.

Wow. When someone kills another person in Antioch or seriously injures other people, a sickening amount of posts talk about forgiving the criminal. Most of of the posts don’t even talk about praying for the victim.

When a puppy is beaten 100% of the posts so far talk about killing or seriously injuring the criminal. WTF is that about..?

Well let me piss you people off…

Let’s all learn to forgive… This man must have been “bored” and we as a society have not done our duty to entertain him. This man is innocent because he must have been under a lot of stress. The real victim here is the poor man who had to beat the puppy.

Shame on everyone who can’t forgive.

LMAO. The most misunderstood words in 2015 is hypocrisy and bigot.

I feel for the puppy is it train a dog but what about Mario Woods who was shot and killed like a dog in the streets of San Francisco by the cops out there I’ll see all the comments on this page and I wish Mario woods would have gotten the comments it’s unbelievable that people would value the life of an animal more than a human being

It’s spelled hypocracy, and I don’t value any animals life above a persons…people have souls, although some are sick & twisted. Regardless, any of these young P.O.S. who have no respect for life deserve an eye for an eye…!

LMAO. Thanks but I spelled hypocrisy correctly. Unless your point was to say it should be spelled hypo-cracy as in similar to crazy.
