At 6:58 pm Saturday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a garage in downtown Antioch.
Firefighters were dispatched to the 800 block of B Street off W 8th Street and while responding, a large column of smoke was observed. Upon arrival, firefighters located a fully involved garage that began to catch two homes on fire. Crews were able to make fire attack and known down the fire quickly while saving both homes—which sustained damages.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and at least one person was transported to a local hospital with smoke inhalation.
Antioch Police also responded to provide traffic control.
