Antioch: Firefighters Make Quick Work of Vegetation Fire on Wilbur

At 3:34 pm Wednesday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire in the 100 block of Wilbur Avenue near Orchard Lane in the City of Antioch.

Upon arrival, Engine 81 reported a 1/8 acre on fire and requested a second engine to the scene and they could handle. By 3:47 pm, the fire was contained.

Firefighters estimated to remain on scene for about an hour due to heavy mop up being required.
