At 10:39 am, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a vegetation fire backing up to homes along Bear Ridge Way off Hillcrest in Antioch.
Upon arrival, homes were threatened and a full vegetation response was requested with units responding from Oakley and Knightsen to accompany Antioch units.
Firefighters worked quickly to protect structures while limiting damage to just a fence while the fire was contained to 1/8 of an acre. Additional units were cancelled prior to arriving on scene. Crews were on scene for just over an hour.
