A shooting broke out Wednesday morning in an apartment complex in the 3900 block of Delta Fair Blvd in the City of Antioch that left multiple apartments struck by gunfire and families displaced.

The shooting occurred at approximately 9:15 am in the Delta View Apartments off Delta Fair Blvd and Fair view.

Nothing has been released on the incident by Antioch Police, even after several requests have been made. On Friday, Antioch Public Information Officer Rolando Bonilla responded regarding the incident.

The following was a stament released by Pastor Henry L. Dillihant III MSPH & Family

Date: April 21, 2022

On Aprile 20, 2022 at appxoimently 8:30 am, several rounds of gunshots was fired. My wife’s sisters house was hit as well as my house and gas main was struck by automatic riffle fire. I was called from my house to help my sister-in-law who was pinned down by gun fire. Several shooters/gang members took over the complex. While running to help my wife’s sister, passing a hail of bullets, GOD protected us, where we live turned into a war zone. I was able to retrieve them while her house was being shot into. We have had to leave our residence. We have not been back. There is some confusion on what’s going on here. Here is the situation:

  1. We are victims of violent crime
  2. We are victims of gang violence
  3. Our housing situation is not safe
  4. Family members have been traumatized and we need help
  5. Because of the gas main to our unit being directly hit by gun fire, that unit filled with gas and we had to leave with the clothes on our back.
  6. I was able to get some of my medication
  7. My sisters-in-law house was riddled with gun fire, her gas main was struck and water pipes hit as well causing flooding and damage to a lot of her property
  8. Our children suffered mental and physical damage due to the violence they witnessed and trying to remove them from the situation.
  9. We are all trying to cope with this situation mentally, as best we can knowing there are still active gang members and shooters living in this community.
  10. The management of this community, both the owners/facilities and parent services company have not reached out or returned telephone calls
  11. The management company has however done their best to stop us from receiving help from other agency’s and denying help to our families to be placed in a safer situation
  12. This is an on going dangerous situation, we have reached out to many people for help. And will do our best to keep everyone updated. There are other victims from this terrible situation, call the Antioch Police Department for assistance.

So no harm no foul, is that the new standard with the new city manager? This is no different than allowing people to steal less than a certain amount before we pursue charges. I believe this is all to conceal crime stats in Antioch.

Not very difficult! Apr 23, 2022 - 4:25 pm

There is a 13 percent chance I can solve this!

This why everyone needs to sign the recall for Mr. Thorpe. It’s getting ridiculous. It will never get better until Thorpe and all his buddies are removed. City managers comment has to be one of the stupidest comments ever. Obvious cover up of all the problems in this city. SIGN THE PETITION

My mistake. Comment was made by public info manager. I’m sure the mayor and city manager told him what to say. A public info person that won’t let the public know what’s going on. How much does he make a year? Whatever it is it’s too much.

No excuses Apr 24, 2022 - 8:24 pm

Pastor these are you own people that you are writing your letter to. They don’t care about you and how you feel. Don’t waste your time because you feel the same way as them about the police. Now your neighborhood is shot up then you want the police and everyone else to help you out. Really bro?!

Pastor Henry L. Dillihant III Apr 25, 2022 - 10:03 am

These are my own people? What kind of statement is that. It’s deep seeded in prejudice and racism. My people don’t kill their own people, the Bible says the law is for the lawless sir. I obey the law sir. And you don’t know me nor what I feel. I am not anti-police nor am I anti-mayor of the Antioch city, I am anti people doing bad things such as breaking the law wherever they are. I will not be made a political pawn. Because people should be doing their job and not breaking the law. I don’t care if it’s the police department or the governor. Do your job, that’s why I pay taxes every year. I’m a law-abiding citizen dude! Something(s) are ugly in the city of Antioch and GOD will reveal all of it…

corrupt city manager and mayor = ???

Pastor Henry L. Dillihant III Apr 25, 2022 - 10:15 am

I have worked hard to help stop inner city violence wherever I have lived. I understand The functional and dysfunctional workings of Society. For all those who want to make what happen about political narratives vs police Department loyalty are the problem. This is a society problem, and the government which includes the police to the mayors department needs to do their job. I really don’t care who the mayor is or who the police department chief is. This job still needs to be done. If people are law-abiding citizens, who pay their taxes they have a right to representation. Antioch has been filled with violence, since I got here in 2006. It was someone nicer and Calmer back then. But the noise was here!! Racism was also here and is here. Discrimination and disparities abide in this City. What happen at that Apartment building is indicative, of people who don’t live in nanny old houses and property in Antioch, and who do not care about the safety of the people whom they money from. Why would you rent property to known drug dealers and gang members, I missed your other tenants who are law-abiding citizens? Why are the police so shorthanded? Why would they hire security company to do patrolling details? Why would they hire a security company to do patrolling details only have three in the morning? Why was nobody in the city government from the city manager nor the public relations office in nor anybody on the city Council, informed by the police department and they shooting had taking place? I don’t care concerning the fighting between the police and the city government, what is the police are part of the city government. When people pay their taxes and go to work and I law biting citizens, they have a right to ask for help from the government that they pay for..I don’t care concerning the fighting between the police and the city government, what is the police are part of the city government.
