Antioch Animal Services Offers Free Pet Adoptions in December

by ECT

Antioch Animal Services announced Friday that during the month of December, people can adopt a pet at no charge.

The promotion, which runs Dec. 1-31, represents a savings of $96 per dog and $76 per cat, which are fees the shelter would otherwise charge to cover the cost spaying, neutering and vaccinating animals.

The promotion is sponsored by the Antioch Friends of Animal Services who is sponsoring the adoption fees as its s “Home for the Holidays” promotion to alleviate overcrowding at Antioch Animal Services.

Adoptive families who are residents of Antioch must purchase a dog license, which costs $20 annually at the time of adoption. Antioch Animal Services gives a discount to seniors purchasing a license for their pets.

The shelter is located at 300 L St (adjacent to Antioch Police Department).

Hours:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday 10:00 am- 5:00 pm
  • Friday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • The adoption center closes 30 minutes prior to the close of business.

Closed Sunday and Monday, as well as all City observed Holidays. Please note, if the holiday falls on a day we are normally closed, the holiday will be observed on the next business day.
