Our theme this year is “Let Freedom Ring: Becoming a Stronger Community” and will be the focus during the Peace Walk and the 4 hour LIVE in-person event.

“Juneteenth is a celebration of Freedom and community. As a youth that has grown up in this community, I am very committed to celebrating the diversity within our community and bringing awareness to the culturally rich history of Antioch.” Claryssa Wilson, Organizer

Last year Claryssa and her committee hosted a safe and healthy event on the land of the first African American resident of Antioch and planned the event in under two weeks due to COVID. This year’s event will include Motivational speaker Tracie Berry McGhee as our Emcee, Griot B and Schoolyard Rap, our local artist the Project 4 Band, West African and Caribbean dance company and so much more.
