Shortly after 1:00 pm Sunday, a vehicle crashed into the Holy Cross Cemetery gate in Antioch where an elderly man was transported to a local hospital.
The accident occurred on E. 18th where a vehicle traveling behind the elderly man was looking down at the time of the collision. The crash occured as an SUV rear ended the elderly man’s vehicle as he was making a right hand turn into the cemetery to visit his wife’s grave. Upon collision, the man apparently was sent into the gate.
The man was suffering from minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital as a precaution by American Medical Response.
No further information was available on scene as police are currently investigating.
