Last week, the Antioch Police Department served as the Command Post for a five-day, multi-agency operation. The primary purpose of this operation was to apprehend people in the eastern region of Contra Costa County who were wanted on outstanding felony warrants.

Over 150 law enforcement personnel participated in this operation from the following agencies: Antioch PD, Pittsburg PD, Brentwood PD, CHP, Concord PD, CCC Sheriff’s Office, Oakley PD, CCC Probation, CCC DA Investigators, West-NET, CDCR Fugitive Apprehension Team, SFPD, Oakland PD, San Rafael PD, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, San Francisco County Sheriff’s Office, FBI, ICE, ATF, DEA, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program, Northern California Regional Intelligence Center, Western States Information Network, and the US Marshals Service.

When it was all said and done, this operation proved to be a HUGE success! Here is a synopsis of what we accomplished:

– 87 total arrests
– 1 arrest of a subject wanted for murder
– 1 arrest of a subject wanted for vehicular homicide
– 1 arrest of a subject wanted for vehicular manslaughter
– 11 guns seized
– 6 ounces of cocaine seized
– 2 ounces of marijuana seized
– 75 prescription pills seized

Additionally, CHP officers issued 83 citations, towed 36 vehicles, and recovered 3 stolen vehicles.

This was most successful, and largest-scale, operation of this type ever held in East Contra Costa County. The communication and teamwork displayed by all involved was absolutely phenomenal.

I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to all the officers, detectives, marshals, deputies, agents, investigators, dispatchers, jailers, community service officers, analysts, and support/clerical staff who joined together to help make our community safer!

Sincerely,

Chief Allan Cantando

Nice to know that all the law enforcement in East County was for a reason. I was wondering why it felt like the army arrived in Antioch. Very nice work everyone and thank you! ECT, great photos!

With this would happen every month. I am so thankful for the effort of law enforcement, I just wish our DA would become tougher on these people.

Wow. Impressed!
Where is the location of the first photo in row 8, the one with all the tents? I didn’t know there was an area like that in town, and I know Antioch pretty well. Thanks.

Great job, I don’t mine spending our tax money to keep these scum bags in jail. With that said our money shouldn’t have to be spent this way. Low life’s get a steady job and pay your own way through life. It’s really not as hard as one thanks. Don’t forget to be kind to others.

What were the demographic statistics on the arrested parties?

former Antioch resident Sep 7, 2014 - 6:59 am

That would be irrelevant. either they had warrants or they didn’t.

Theresa Sep 3, 2014 - 5:17 pm

Chief Allan Cantando,
You are a true law enforcement leader. Thank you for arranging the trash clean up. No doubt a bite has been taken out of crime. We can now only hope the Judges will take action too.
Great Job.

Awesome! Words can’t describe how proud I am of our officers and why I will always support law enforcement! My community is a safer place for my young son!! Thank you! Thank you!

Thanks to all the law enforcement officers who participated. Thank you Chief Cantando!

RJB Sep 3, 2014 - 9:14 pm

@AntiochRes

There are those who would not want you to have that information. They would rather that you be blind to crime. The profound reason is because proponents for crime are somehow related to these criminal section 8 scumbags and ghetto filthy baby’s mamas.

So instead of you gaining the knowledge to know what to look out for in order to save yourself from a violent attack, idiots would love to make people believe that you are not supposed to know it were mostly Black people arrested, because that would be racist.

As a telephone technician, going into a dozen homes a day or more, I always wonder how many of the ones I’ve been into find themselves involved in raids like this.

AJ Sep 3, 2014 - 10:50 pm

Job well done! Cleaning up the streets one day at a time. We need more random shakedown like this. Hit them when the crooks least expect it.

cherry_crush94565 Sep 4, 2014 - 1:12 am

Uniformed officers have a tough job, they are human beings as well. It cannot be all peachy. Just grabbing bad guys/girls, & locking them up… So much more to a day of a good officer. Salute.

Troy Sep 4, 2014 - 7:14 am

Thank You APD as well as all of the other agencies!!!!

y. fletcher Sep 4, 2014 - 11:29 am

Wow,we are a bunch of lame ass’s, we wasted how many millions of dollars for so little arrests… just saying we should have used those millions and millions on some after school programs to keep our children off the streets and out of this lifestyle! Now that would be something to be proud of… but having this many agencys, feds, dea, sherrifs etc etc for a whole week and all they could do was this, what a joke!! And what a waste of our money and resources!

Hoemerjoe Sep 4, 2014 - 9:04 pm

Fletch millions not wasted, if you need to rely on the government to keep your children out of that life style you are the lame ass for not teaching personal accountability and responsibility to your children. Unfortunately tax payers are stuck cleaning up the mess irresponsible parents refuse to deal with.

BadCarrie Sep 5, 2014 - 2:46 am

I’m with y. fletcher on this one! All those agencies (I counted 24 of them) and they only seized 6 ounces of coke and a couple ounces of weed? And it took them a week to do it? Seriously!? They made 87 arrests-1 was for murder and 2 were for vehicular manslaughter/homicide… what were the other 84 arrests for? Driving on a suspended? Jaywalking? If this was seriously the “most successful, and largest-scale, operation of this type ever held in East Contra Costa County” then that is beyond pathetic! What a joke!

Patricia Adams Sep 6, 2014 - 7:57 am

2oz. of weed and 75 pills WOW!!! That equals to less than 1 prescription. This was a huge waste of money..Listed 3 most serious offenses but doesn’t tell us what the 84 arrests were. Oh yes 11 guns !! This was pathetic!!

y. fletcher Sep 4, 2014 - 11:41 am

This is a joke! How many millions of dollars did we waste with such little results we could have fed all starving in africa for this 1weeks worth of wages… how lame!

y. fletcher Sep 4, 2014 - 11:47 am

What a total waste of about 8-10 million dollars, and for such little results… we could have used that money for afterschool programs and keeping our children out of these lifestyles, but no we waste it on this, what a disgrace!

Antiochian Sep 4, 2014 - 12:47 pm

I am so thankful for this cooperative planning and enforcement! It has been so hard to see Antioch go downhill and become such a dangerous place. This affects the quality of life in so many ways for its residents. At last, there is some sense that things actually are changing and someone is taking positive action. Thank you, all agencies involved! I hope to see this continue!

Walter Sep 4, 2014 - 3:35 pm

This is one more huge joke on the part of law enforcement to try and justify their existence. just last week in the city of Antioch my daughter called the police to report a crime in progress , the said they could do nothing at that moment because of lack of man power. when they arrived 2 hours later everything was gone. Must have been more important to get the 2 oz.`s of weed. what a god damn sham.

Sbux Sammy Sep 4, 2014 - 3:54 pm

That is so awesome. I can stand to see what our community has evolved into over my lifetime. I have lived in Antioch most of my live since I was 6 years old. I am glad to see some of the scum is being removed from our streets. Good job guys!

Brad Sep 4, 2014 - 5:02 pm

How awesome is this?! Please continue to do this everyday! Get these pieces of garbage out of here.

Will Sep 5, 2014 - 12:09 pm

WTF ? You don’t know how to arrest people in a none militant way. what the fk where all the other arrests. How much does it cost to incarcerate and trial all of the petty arrests. The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Sounds like the cops went out harassing the poor again.

Where did Antioch go wrong??????? Sep 9, 2014 - 9:01 pm

Will. I’m glad you can cut and paste the fourth amendment from the web. You are probably the dumb ass that tries to interpret it to the police as they shake you down because you got caught slipping. Of course the police go out and harass the poor people because they have nothing better to do. I’m sure the police pick up the phone and call on the dumb ass people standing out on the street corner selling g dope. It is the criminals that decide the police response. If they are violent people then expect a hard and fast approach. Stop supporting crime…..

Chuck Sep 5, 2014 - 7:30 pm

I do not think cops stay up at night thinking how to harass poor people on their next shift. Dirt bags are not determined by their wealth.

American Patriot Sep 5, 2014 - 9:53 pm

So you arrest ZERO child molesters…ZERO rapist…..ZERO child abusers….ZERO women beaters and you find a lousy 6 oz of crack? Seriously, its a waste of tax payers money,u put street punks in jail, curse them with felons then WONDER why they get out worse, cages never have and never will correct or rehabilitate. Glorifying bondage in the Land of The Free, way to go.

Veronica Sep 6, 2014 - 9:46 am

Great job everyone! Thank you!

RJB Sep 6, 2014 - 11:50 am

I would gladly pay extra tax dollars if these types of operations are done more often.

Don’t pay any attention to the pro-criminal supporters. They’re upset because their section 8 voucher is in jeopardy. People on the program can’t be caught for criminal offenses. They hate it when their baby’s mama or low life absentee baby’s daddy gets arrested for being a cancer to society.

Of course not all section 8 people are bad like the disabled or veterans who truly deserve it. I’m talking about the ghetto lazy filthy disgusting demographic that is the cancer of Antioch. You all know who they are 😉

Come on criminal supporters. Chime in!!

BadCarrie Sep 8, 2014 - 12:14 pm

Really? “Pro-criminal supporters on section 8”? I think the whole operation was a complete utter joke and makes our law enforcement look um, I don’t know…kinda pathetic. Think about it: 24 agencies and they got 6oz of coke, 2oz of weed, 75 pills, a few guns and that’s ALL they could come up with IN A WEEKS TIME!? THAT’S IT???? And that was the “most successful, and largest-scale, operation of this type ever held in East Contra Costa County” I’m sorry, but that is completely laughable! They could have done better than that! They SHOULD have done better than that with as much as they put into it! So, I MUST be on section 8 sitting around all day just supporting criminals and writing to my baby daddy in prison? Get a grip! You sound about as ignorant as the low-lifes you speak of!

RJB Sep 8, 2014 - 3:16 pm

“…So, I must be on section 8 sitting around all day…and writing to my baby daddy I prison..?”

You’re hilarious.

That post was meant exactly for people like you.

Thanks for chiming in. Next please….

carolyn harrington Sep 6, 2014 - 2:02 pm

Thank you! Keep up the good work!!

Chuck Sep 6, 2014 - 6:57 pm

RJB
Im with ya. The law needs to weed out the section 8 scum so the real section 8 can be taken care of.

Dave Sep 12, 2014 - 8:31 am

Glad to see this happening. This needs to be done more often, like street sweeping. RJB, I with you too!
