Very sad for the elderly man. It is even sadder that getting ran over in Antioch is a common issue just like gun shot wounds, prostitution, methamphetamine, section 8 fraud, scams, and anything else that has to do with ghetto scumbags. You name it we got here in Antioch.

In the Bay Area when other cities want to get rid of their crime, blight, and the like… they try to move the ghetto people elsewhere and heavily increase the property values so that the ghetto cannot move back. These ghetto people are not just relocated to another part of town.. they are given an entire town. Enter Antioch, Richmod, Oakland, E. Palo Alto…

What you are referring to is called, “gentrification.” Sadly, a great deal of Co. Co. County needs this. I remember in my youth, Antioch just being farms, orchids, and roads.

You are absolutely correct. I recall SF was using that word in regards to evicting and pricing out low incomers.

Please get your facts straight before you reply on something you have no idea of the true facts! I am close to the family of the young man (African American) who comes from a good home. He was an honor roll A & B student! He lives in a home PAID for by his parents (no section 8)….The Elderly man (Caucasian) however long time Antioch native (not a transplant) had a shaky background several run ins with the law and past drug offenses… HOW DARE YOU PASS JUDGEMENT WHEN YOURE NOT GOD!!!!

What the hell does a elderly man running a red light on a bike and slamming into a car have to do with “Ghetto scumbags” and “gentrification”… Ignorance of the masses!!!! HOW DARE YOU PASS JUDGEMENT… THATS GOD’s JOB!!!!!

All of your comments are irrelevant to the fact that an old man ran a stop light on his bicycle (bicyclist have to abide by the same traffic laws and a person driving a car) and was hit by a vehicle driven by a driver who did nothing wrong. What about the young man who is probably tratized by the negligence of the bicyclist? SMH at the ignorance of some people.
