Additional Teams Needed for Bark For Life Event

by Administrator

The Brentwood-Oakley Bark For Life organizers are trying to get last minute registrations for  next weekend’s event where participants and their dogs will walk around a course to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

As of publishing of this article, just 18 teams have signed up and a total of $435 has been raised.

“I am trying to get the word out so more people will register. We have no idea what to expect.  We have heard from a lot of people that they are coming, but it’s hard to know for sure.  Registering prior to the event helps,” said event organizer Wanda Zimmerman.

Zimmerman admits the more the merrier, but would be happy with 30-40 dogs at the event.

The Brentwood-Oakley Bark For Life is schedule for Saturday, July 21 at O’Hara Park School, 1100 O’Hara Ave. in Oakley. Registration is $25.

Planned activities include:

  • Survivor Lap – 8:30 am
  • Costume Contest – 9:00 am
  • Musical Sit – 10:00 am
  • Egg/Cotton Ball Relay – 11:00 am
  • Opportunity Drawing  – 12:00 pm

Sam Hartley of the Brentwood Press did a great preview of the event back on May 9 and its a worthy read, but my goal of this post was to give an update that teams are needed and let’s help them reach their goal of 30-40 teams.
