At 10:01 pm Saturday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Engine 81 responded to Fulton Shipyard in the City of Antioch for a sheared hydrant after a vehicle struck it and took off.
Engine 81 made good time on the response, however, the value was lodged and would not move. After working on the valve, it finally came loose and they were able to turn it off.
Firefighers worked the scene in nice 80 degree weather 🙂

Vehicle hit the hydrant and took off? Why aren’t there rows and rows of SECURITY CAMERAS on that street?
