The Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed invites the community for a community service day at the Upper Sand Creek Basin on February 15.
With the $10 million flood protection and habitat restoration project completed, Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed has partnered with the Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District on a 10 acre wetlands restoration project within the basin.
On this work day we will be, removing invasive & staking plants for watering. What you should know about our work day:
- Wear clothing and closed toe shoes that will likely get dirty or muddy. The weather can change over the course of the morning so wear layers, hats and sunscreen.
- Folks are welcome to bring tools including shovels to dig holes, hand trowels & work gloves. Please mark your tools for easy identification.
- Water and light snacks will be provided.
- Please register online and bring a signed waiver. Waiver can be found HERE
- You do not need to print out or bring your registration ticket.
