At 8:55 am Saturday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a reported fire at Carls Jr. on Century Blvd. in Pittsburg.
Upon arrival, CONFIRE observed a cloud of smoke coming from a kitchen fire and upon further investigation, had a working attic fire. The fire was then upgraded to a second alarm with an engine coming from as far away as Oakley.
Crews arrived on scene to find the fryer caught fire and as they were attempting to extinguish it, the fire spread. The building was evacuated as a precaution.
By 9:19 am, second alarm units were arriving with Engine 88 (Antioch) becoming the sixth engine on scene and additional units staging as a precaution.
By 9:24 am, the fire was under control. A few minutes later, units who were staging were released from the scene.

Sounds like poor maintenance of their grease filters and why didn’t the Ansel fire suppression system come on to put out any fire?
Love the articles, but one request please. That the pictures you post be bigger in size! When I click them they are so small and being as old as I its hard to make stuff out half the time. This isn’t 2000 with computers using a 56k modem.
If its due to bandwidth costs please post a link to where I can donate. Thanks!
