Pittsburg Man Killed in Fairfield Car Crash Monday Evening

On February 25, 2014 at 6:56 PM, the Fairfield Police Department responded to Airbase Pkwy east of Walters Rd regarding a report of an injury collision. When officers arrived, they determined that one of the involved drivers was deceased, and the other driver was injured. The department’s Traffic Division was called out to handle the investigation.

Preliminarily, investigators learned the following:

A maroon colored Cadillac was traveling westbound on Airbase Pkwy and attempted to turn left across the eastbound lanes, onto Wiley Rd. At the same time, a maroon colored Nissan 300Z was traveling eastbound on Airbase Pkwy approaching the same intersection. The Nissan struck the passenger side of the Cadillac, broadside. The Cadillac driver suffered injuries that were fatal, and the Nissan driver suffered life-threatening injuries.

The deceased driver was a 38 year-old male Pittsburg resident. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin.

The injured driver was a 19 year-old male Fairfield resident, and he was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
