Discovery Homes to Provide 400 Pittsburg Families With Holiday Meal

More than 400 Pittsburg families will enjoy a warm dinner and coat this holiday season thanks to the generosity of Discovery Homes. For the fifth year in a row, Discovery Homes will uphold their tradition of donating and distributing food to those who have less than most this Holiday Season.

At 9:30 a.m. on December 24th, Discovery Homes’ volunteers will be passing out Turkey dinners, with traditional side dishes, beverages and dessert as well as warm coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and other goods to families at the corner of West 10th Street & West in Pittsburg.

For the past two weeks, volunteers have been passing out special tickets to needy families who were carefully selected to receive a turkey dinner this holiday season. The dinners are donated as part of the Discovery Homes Gives Back program, a program that aims to give back to communities in a way that is tailored to specific neighborhood needs.

Each year the families arrive well before the trucks do, waiting to receive a meal they otherwise may not have been able to enjoy this Holiday season.

“This is the season of giving,” said Seeno Homes President, Albert D. Seeno Jr. “And as a family business, we like to help the families in the communities we build with the hopes of making someone’s Thanksgiving a little brighter.”
