Attempted Robbery Near Los Medanos College Lake

On Monday, September 23 at 10:40am, a student was grabbed while walking to Los Medanos College. The incident took place at the lake near the entrance to the De Anza Trail. The suspect demanded the student’s “stuff”. The student was able to free himself and defended himself by hitting the suspect. The student ran to the college campus and contacted Police Services.

The student was not injured. After a search of the campus and in the surrounding neighborhoods, the suspect was not located. The suspect was described as an African American male, late teens or early 20’s with short hair. He was wearing a gray Pittsburg High School sweatshirt, black jeans and black shoes.
