A small exterior fire at the old golf course in the City of Pittsburg has turned into a two-alarm wildland fire response Monday morning.
The fire broke out just before 10:30 am at W Leland Rd and Golf Club Road at the old golf course. Crews responding had trouble making access due to the location and by 10:40 am were able to find a path the the fire.
As of 10:57 am, Battalion 8 requested a two-alarm wildland fire response. No size of the fire has been stated at time of publication.
11:20 am UPDATE
Fire was estimated at 7-acres at 50% contained.
12: 15 pm UPDATE
Forward progress has been stopped. No structures threatened and fire is under investigation.
On April 11, Contra Costa County Fire responded to the same location where they requested a two-alarm fire for a fire that was quickly knocked down.
