At 2:26 pm Friday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire in the 2100 block of Alpha Way off E 18th Street in the city of Antioch.
While responding, it was reported by firefighters of a large column of smoke. It was declared a working structure fire. It was also reported that the fire was possibly catching another home on fire at Crestwood Dr.
Engine 88 arrived on scene, one home was heavily involved.
By 3:05 pm, it was reported that the fire on Crestwood Drive was under control and knocked down. They broke down that branch, but were still working on Alpha Way as they had to transition to another source of water after a broken water main.
By 3:30, the fire was knocked down. The fire was limited to original fire house, a neighboring garage and fences on three sides.
