4 Children, 3 Adults Pulled from Boat Taking on Water Near Sherman Island by Firefighters

At 11:45 am Saturday, Contra Costa County Firefighters on Rescue Boat 81 in Antioch were training when they were flagged down by a boat taking on water in the Delta near Sherman Island.

According to CONFIRE, the boat with 4 children and 3 adults was taking on water. CONFIRE opted to place the passengers on their boat and call for additional resources as a precaution, including the US Coast Guard.

The incident occurred near Sharman Lake, no medical was required to the scene. The boat was described as a 20 Ft. Sea Ray.

By 11:54 am, CONFIRE stated they pulled 4 children from the boat and secured 3 adults while the US Coast Guard was responding. Rescue Boat 85 also assisted with the rescue.
