Pittsburg: Distracted Driving May Have Caused Fatal Auto-Pedestrian Accident

by ECT

On Tuesday at approximately 3:11 pm, authorities were notified of a vehicle versus pedestrian on Canal Road in Pittsburg.

The collision took place when the driver, a 24 year old Pittsburg man, allowed the Honda Civic he was driving to veer off the main roadway of Canal Road, about a quarter mile west of Loftus Road, and onto the gravel shoulder where a 23 year old man from Concord was walking in a westerly direction.

The front of the Honda struck the pedestrian causing major injuries. He was transported by ambulance to John Muir Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The cause of this traffic collision is still pending further investigation; however, initial information indicates that the driver may have become distracted when his front passenger tried to reposition herself toward the back of the vehicle to calm their 11 month old son.

We are asking that anyone who may have witnessed this incident please call CHP-Contra Costa at 925.646.4980.

Did the people who hit him get drug tested?! The ones with the baby in tge car?!
Wth? That whole story has holes in it. Sounds like the people are lying, I doubt she was checking on the baby in the back seat, considering she didn’t get the baby out of the car after the accident. These people didn’t even check him. Ya, Fuck them. Take a life and get away with it, hell No! The law, was broken, laws were broken.
