A joint community meeting with Pittsburg Unified School District and the Pittsburg Police Department aiming to address social media and safety will kicks off Tuesday.
The move comes after Pittsbug Police made 5 arrests last week in regards to threats made on social media directed at Pittsburg High School.
Pittsburg Superintendent Janet Schulze declined to answer questions about the incidents or student safety or the forum and deferred to a police department press release announcing the forum.
According to the flyer, the meetings aim to address the following:
• Overview of the Process of How We Work Together in Handling Social Media Threats
• Social Media Tips for Parents
• Questions and Answers
Two meetings:
- Tuesday, September 25th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Rancho Medanos Library
- Saturday, September 29th from 10:00am-12:00pm at Pittsburg High CAB
Spanish Interpreter will be at both meetings.

Yesterday, was driving down Buchanan in Pittsburg and GLI 2550, a white compact government licensed vehicle with 4 occupants littered in the middle of the street. These are the mind of people that work for the City of Pittsburg, driving around in taxpayer supported cars littering out streets? Wow!
