Antioch to Host Series of Community Café Meetings

by ECT

The City of Antioch has set up a series of community outreach meetings to discuss the future of Antioch and is looking for residents to participate and provide input.

Calling it “Community Cafe Meetings”, the city is looking to find solutions instead of pointing out problems. The forums will focus on three areas which include future of the community, community partnerships and priority setting.

Dates:

  • 6:30 pm on Thursday January 23 at the Prewett Water Park, Community Room located at 4701 Lone Tree Way
  • 10:00 am on Saturday January 25 at the Prewett Water Park, Community Room located at 4701 Lone Tree Way
  • 6:30 pm on Monday January 27 at the Nick Rodriquez Community Center located at 213 F Street
  • 6:30 pm on Wednesday January 29 at the Nick Rodriquez Community Center located at 213 F Street

The City is asking attendees to please RSVP. You can do so by emailing [email protected]

It should be noted that the Wednesday January 29 meeting is scheduled for the same time as the Coffee With the Cops at the Antioch Police Department Community Room.

i will be at the very first meeting. just send an email to council, asking for a detailed agenda, and a list of participating city staff/ council member names.

The city should not do anything at all until they fix all the problems they don’t want anyone “to point out”. I like to look forward as much as the next guy and believe this city has a future but NOT until they fix the mess they have made.

Can Antioch send the scumbags west instead of east ? Brentwood and Oakley have their hands full.

Julio Jan 21, 2014 - 11:44 am

Sorry Bro, they are just naturally drifting east.

They gravitate towards areas where it is cheap to rent and police do not harrass them. Hence, Antioch is the haven for the scum.

Do you wonder why the scumbags don’t live in Danville, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, Pleasanton? Simple. The can’t afford it there and the PD and residents will not put up with their crap.

As long as we keep our cost of living low, they will naturally drift (like Julio said) here.

As long as we keep putting up with their crap they will thrive here.

As long as they keep moving here our home values will continually decrease so more of them can move here.
