Antioch Police Officer Struck While Taking Subject into Custody

by ECT

IMG_1136

At roughly 11:55 am Saturday, Antioch Police on routine patrol in the Sycamore area observed suspicious activity and proceeded to break up a small crowd.

As officers were on scene, a female obstructed police and while being in the process of being detained, she struck the officer in the upper torso and was immediately arrested and taken to the Antioch Police Department.

Backup was requested after a group of subjects were observing the incident began to get rowdy and screaming obscenities at officers. In total, 8 police vehicles were on scene to control the crowd. There was no further incident as police searched a vehicle.  The officer was not injured in the incident.

According to police, the female arrested told police she was planning on going with her kids to the “peace march” at Contra Loma Park.

Editors Comment:
Antioch Police showed great restraint and judgement given the actions of the group of individuals threatening police by challenging them, shouting at them, and yelling foul language during this incident. A case could have been made that up to four additional subjects could have been detained while police were on scene for officer safety or even arrested.  A female whose vehicle was involved in the incident was cooperative with police as the crowd urged her on to not allow police to search her vehicle.

Really? I’m going to the “Peace” march right after I slug this police officer. That’s rich.

RJB Sep 21, 2014 - 8:48 am

They all claim peace, equality, respect, and my favorite of all, “justice”. LMAO.

Of course, they only claim these things after doing something illegal!

Every ghetto is a reflection of the animalistic behavior of Oakland, Compton, Ferguson…. Getting the pattern yet?

Is that you, Archie Bunker?

Thank goodness no officers were injured. That portion of Antioch is a jungle and that wild one was heading to a peace rally! These animals are a joke.

Everyone should applaud the Antioch Police. They have their hands full just with Sycamore & Mahogany Streets and all the Tree Streets ( Lemontree, peppertree, etc). Is the “Part-time Mayor” of Anitoch paying attention?

Julio Sep 21, 2014 - 6:44 pm

You can’t fault him for being “part-time” that is the job description. He said he retired to become a full time mayor but he went broke and is now a substitute school teacher in Antioch. SO, I’d say he is a NO TIME mayor.

This is what happens when u let the monkeys out of the cage.

Animals is what we’ve never been . Last time i checked everybody standing outside is a human being . Just because yall read something on the internet about black people causing a riot or whatever doesnt make us no different from the rest of the world. Who ever you guys are speaking on the situation really need to quiet down because you werent there to witness what REALLY happened . Everybody has a voice and yeah we’re all entitled to our own opinions ,but thats no reason for name calling . Bet none of this would’ve been being said if them “animal and monkeys ” were white or a different race .

I am the manager of the HOA community, where this took place. My office is literally right next door to the where this incident happened. It is unfortunate that events like this are what make the news. But what often goes unreported are the positive efforts that we, and many other organizations, are doing to make an impact in the area. Of course, everyone will have their own perspective and opinion, but I can tell you many I’ve spoken to report that the neighborhood is not as nearly as bad as its reputation.

I can also tell you that we work very closely with Antioch PD, and multiple non-profit organizations including several churches in the area to do what we can to push back on the crime and hopelessness of the area. The event mentioned at the nearby park was sponsored by one of those churches, trying to make a difference. Antioch PD is making a concerted effort to patrol more in the area, even with their limited resources. In my 7 years here, I’ve seen a positive difference myself.

As an HOA, we have invested significant amounts of money in bettering our community, including surveillance cameras and ongoing private security patrol. Hundreds of man hours every month are put into upkeep of the physical appearance of the community. When residents misbehave like this, there is great pressure put on unit owners to evict their tenants. We also support a local neighborhood watch and are working with Antioch Crime Commission to involve more owners down the Sycamore Corridor to turn around this whole area. Many of those condos and single-family homes don’t even have the benefit of an HOA to push owners to take action.

There is much work to do. For every stride or two forward, there is often one backward. We can all just shake our heads and ask “why to people act like this?” Or we can get involved. But I am convinced that given the people and organizations who care and want to participate in the change, it will happen over time. I have been invited to speak to the monthly Kiwanis breakfast tomorrow morning (9/23/14), 7am at Denny’s on Lone Tree Way. If you’d like to hear more, and be part of the the change, come join us!

So to everybody dogging my sister this was my car the police lied to me when I walked onto the seen the police was very rude to me told me nothimg about the situation. They asked for a license driver to move my car. And thats how my sister came into the picture. They asked for a licensed driver. As she walked to my car yo move it they began to snatch her up. She repeatedly told them ” not to touch her. The police officer then said my car was now part of a crime scene. Wooow what are the odds of that. Now my car’s a crime scene. She continued to atleast roll up my Windows and they immediately snatched her and tackled her. It was in the mist of them picking her back up she punched him. After he already abused my sister. And after restraining her began go taze her repeatedly. And then began recording after the abuse was over. Antioch police dept aint noyhing but a bunch of racist ass pigs, with nothing better to do. We’re seeing these officers all around the world taking advantage of the bage they wear supposedly to protect and not harm. But these men officer D officer Castillo harmed my sister. There reasons were because my car Windows were down and looked suspicious these mrn violated my rights no one was in my car to pursue simply a dick head cop with nothing to do this man drove around 3x before presenting a problem with my car. But we’re the animals cause we dont have a badge to protect ourselves. Officer D badge #3264 lied to me as soon as he opened his mouth he left out what he did to my sister but its fine I got the video. He even began searching my car without permission but stopped when he was by me that I was the owner and do not search my car and only cooperated with me so hecould search my vehicle. He said, I really dont want to tow it cause you wont let me search it, he asked me to sign the form gor him to search my car after he already began to. Kind of backwards dont you think??? These men Officers; D, Castillo, Chang, Warren, Evans, etc, abused they rights as an officer of the law and had they clubs out ready to beat us. This the how did it even gey started my car wasnt reported, my car was parked not botheringno one but cause my windows is rolled down in a private parking lot. Officer D felt like he had something to pursue and for the man who wrote this. You came last min. You going off what the police you didnt see my sister hit them all you seen was after they took my sister so you made this fo???r you didnt even see anything tf. And for everyone reading this bullshit and believing it yal dumb as hell. These men did not do they job they abused it, I guess what societies come to you gotta be scared of getting Robbed, Killed, And running into the POLICE smh

Erica –
Trying to read your post gave me a migraine. Did you read back over it before you hit the ‘post’ button? I’m guessing not, huh? I have no idea what the point you’re trying to make is. And I read it twice!!
You really should consider taking some spelling & grammar classes a.s.a.p.

everyone who read this Sep 23, 2014 - 1:25 pm

My attempt to read what you have written here has lowered my intelligence.

BeinDumisStoopid Sep 22, 2014 - 5:28 pm

CaptainKlutz Sep 22, 2014 - 5:50 pm

Erica,

You probably won’t believe me since I’m an old white guy, but I do believe that folks like RJB and Brad are racist idiots.

However, when you abuse the English language like you did and refer to police as dick heads, you really don’t help your cause. I couldn’t even read your full post because of the language.

I understand you’re really angry, but please take a few deep breaths and write a coherent post. I guarantee I will read that post and do my best to understand things from your perspective.

I think if you take the time to learn and use proper language when dealing with others, you might find everybody is easier to deal with.

Can we all dial back on the racist comments?

CaptainKlutz Sep 22, 2014 - 6:37 pm

I wish there was an edit capability. I need to dial back myself and just say that I believe that RJB and Brad are racist…period. Please forgive the last part of that sentence.

RJB Sep 22, 2014 - 7:03 pm

Claiming someone is racist means you have no logical debate against the facts I’ve stated.

And by the way, I’m a black man.

RJB plays to all crowds. Whoever he thinks he can inflame.

RJB Sep 22, 2014 - 11:29 pm

@julio

You are correct. I don’t discriminate against any individual acting like a r-tard. Antioch has plenty of them. Ooh now I’ve offended the handicapped, watch out!

Some people are just way too sensitive when slapped across the face with the truth.

its handi-capable sir!
