On Tuesday, just before 2:30 pm, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of a paintball shooting in the downtown area where subjects open fire with paintballs at elderly adults and youths.
The two sped off in a car where police located two suspects in a vehicle near A Street and E 18th near Starbucks where a male and female were taken into custody.
A search of the vehicle resulting in police located a paintball gun and equipment.
Police performed a field investigating where witnesses from the downtown area attempted to identify the suspects, however, police said they were being uncooperative.
Police had no choice but to release the two individuals, however, they did take the paintball gun for evidence and tow the vehicle.
Police on scene also said these two individuals were one of two groups involved in paintball shootings around town over the past several months.
No further information was released.

People fear retaliation somehow from the suspects, but if people dont take a stand, things will never get better. Its time for people to stand up and say enough is enough. They worked hard at deliberately choosing victims who would be afraid and unable to stand up to them. Would it have been possible to get them for vandalism, destruction of public property, etc., without having to involve people they’ve already terrorized? If there aren’t enough cameras in the area to catch this kind of action, maybe we just need more. This isn’t going to do much for the effort to boost Antioch’s tourism. They’re worse than useless and shiftless, they’re deliberately destructive and a menace to the community.
