Antioch Police Arrest Man Wanted in Four Antioch-Brentwood Jewelry Store Burglaries

by ECT

On July 21 at 8:12 am, an officer was patrolling W.20th St. and saw 31 year old Deandre Brewer in a parked vehicle. The officer was aware Brewer had a warrant issued as a result of a Brentwood PD investigation regarding (4) jewelry store burglaries.

As officers converged on the area, Brewer fled at a high rate of speed in the vehicle and officers gave chase.

Brewer’s female passenger attempted to exit the car prior to the pursuit, but he pulled her into the car and held onto her. She told Brewer to stop and to let her out several times, but he refused. When she attempted to exit the car, he continued pulling her back.

Brewer ran a stop sign at Drake and “G” Street and was struck by a passing vehicle.

The collision disabled Brewer’s car and he fled on-foot. Officers gave chase and Brewer was quickly taken into custody by 8:35 am according to radio traffic.

There were no injuries as a result of the collision. Brewer was medically cleared at SDMH and later transported to the MDF.

A large amount of jewelry was recovered in the car, and it was determined to be loot from an Antioch jewelry store burglary earlier that morning.

Antioch and Brentwood Police Detectives are working together on this investigation. Brewer was booked at the county jail.

Great work APD. Thank goodness no officers or pedestrians were injured during the pursuit. Good luck in prison Brewer.
