UPDATE – ARREST MADE

There were three additional bomb threats called in to the Antioch Police Department concerning area schools this morning.  The first was called in at 7:43 AM stating there was a bomb at Black Diamond Middle School.  The second two calls were made at 9:39 AM and 10:50 AM; both of those calls were reports of bombs, again, at Deer Valley High School.  The Antioch Police Department sent officers to all three of these events, responding in mutual cooperation with the Antioch Unified School District to evaluate the credibility of each report.  All of the incidents this morning and over the past four days have been determined to be hoaxes.  At no time were students of any of the effected schools in any danger.

Following-up on a lead after the third bomb threat of the morning, APD Officers and Detectives were able to identify and subsequently arrest a juvenile in connection with these false bomb threats.  The juvenile later admitted to making the bogus calls to investigators.

Investigators are still looking into the false bomb threat made at Antioch High School, yesterday.

Thank you APD! We knew you would get this one!! Thanks to the kids who cooperated giving information also.

Please don’t let the DA make a plea deal on this, even if its a first time offense. A point has to be made to all the kids that this is not funny, its not a joke, and it is unacceptable, I wonder if you can bill the parents for the time that APD spent searching the campus?

Not a bad kid? He made a terrorist threat! That’s not good-kid behavior. He’s a selfish brat that should face the harshest punishment possible!

Probably had a test s/he didn’t want to take. Kids have zero integrity these days. Little shit most likely needs a good old-fashioned ass-whoopin!

Just want to point out that this is an incredibly foolish CHILD. This kid must get punished, but don’t be so quick to ruin the life of a child who might have just been trying to play a really offensive and hideous prank. First find out if his intent was more stupidity then true malice.

Once is a hoax to do it several days in a row multiple times, that’s terrorist threats. While I am with you about not ruining a child’s life, at some point he/she has to take responsibility for his actions. Its reported that he/she is 16 years old. Well, at 16 you do know the difference between right and wrong. A smack on the wrist and told “don’t do that again” is not acceptable.

Exactly! Well said.

I say make his parents and himself pay back every penny of the costs. Even the lost revenue from the school for absentees. Put a lien on any income they have as long as they live until it is paid off. Make them do community service too. Whats wrong with the family unit today?

Harshest punishment possible? Throw the book at him? Don’t cut him a break? Where is the grace and mercy in the hearts of all of you? Jesus didn’t “throw the book at us, give us the harshest punishment possible, not cut us a break.” All of us fall short of His grace and mercy, yet His mercies are new and tender each and every day. “God gave His only begotten son so that we would not perish, but have everlasting life.” Was it a dumb act, yes. Was it terrorist? It can be construed as such. If it was any of your children, would you want what you have all wished against this kid? Maybe he wanted a day out of school. Maybe, he has issues at home, maybe he is being bullied. Please think before you determine the future of another human being’s life, regardless of what they’ve done. There was a thief who hung on a cross next to Jesus, who asked for His forgiveness, and was saved.

“Crazy? More like spoiled rotten little gimme monsters with no respect, integrity, or good manners! Most of them need a good old-fashioned ass-whooping with a fat belt!!”
