A female is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle on Lone Tree Way in the City of Antioch Sunday morning.

The crash occurred around 3:00 am at Lone Tree Way at Davison where police responded to a female in the roadway. The female was transported to a local hospital where her condition was unknown but officers did say her condition was “serious” but they had no other information since they were on scene investigating the incident.

According to police, the female in the wheelchair was not in the crosswalk at the time of the incident and the driver of the vehicle did not stop and instead fled the scene.

Lone Tree Way was reopened just before 7:30 am.

9:50 AM UPDATE:

Antioch Police said the female victim was a 65-year-old Discovery Bay woman who was unresponsive suffering from major injuries. She was transported to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition.

Police say the responsible vehicle fled the scene and has not been located.   Officers are currently following up on evidence left at the scene and potential surveillance footage of the collision.

  1. I’m sorry she was hit, but why would a 65 year old woman be out by herself in a wheelchair in Antioch at 3 a.m.? That sounds rather odd.

    • Melanie apparently hasn’t ever been around older adults in her life. Many suffer from memory loss, cognitive decline (obvious physical decline if she’s in a wheelchair too), and financial struggles. I’m sure all 4 are a cause for why she’s out at 3 AM.

      • I’m around older adults all the time. If you think being out at 3 a.m. in Antioch for a 65 year old woman in a wheelchair is “normal” well, we can agree to disagree. If she’s being taken care of, safeguard the home so she doesn’t “sneak out.”

You have NO IDEA why she’s out at that hour. You’re ASSUMING. She could be out for ANY reason.

        • Let it go Melanie. He knows not what he talks about. My father would get up at 2:30 every morning and walk his dog before all the traffic started. (lived in LA) Of course he wasn’t in a wheelchair either and would be in bed by 6PM. But I agree…it is very odd.

    • That methadone clinic is causing a lot of problems in that area …… from it’s clientele shoplifting at Raley’s to breaking into vehicles in the nearby parking lots. Raley’s now has security inside and outside. There is even a parking slot strictly for police vehicles. The neighbors in that area have even hired law firms to fight the clinic, but they claim they are protected by the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). But, there are ways to get rid of that clinic … some creative ways.
