On August 31, 2016, at approximately 10:20 AM, Antioch Police Officers responded to a vehicle crash that injured one male and damaged Romi’s Liquor Store.
According to Antioch Police Sergeant James Stenger dispatch received several calls from citizens regarding a possible shooting at Romis Liquor on E 18th Street. Officers arrived on scene and determined there was no shooting and that a traffic collision had occurred.
“It was determined a 31 Year-Old Antioch male just exited the store when a 53 Year-Old Oakland female pulled into the parking lot and drove her vehicle into the store wall, pinning the male against the wall,” said Stenger via a Press Release.
Stenger said the male was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries to his lower extremities. The female was arrested for driving under the influence and later booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.
Police released no further information.

I agree…whether ppl are tweaking, overmedicated, or alch. intoxicated…there are too many substance abusers or with mental health needs that are not getting addressed. Either by them falling thru the cracks, so addicted that they are normalizing their dependency and in denial that there is a “problem” or just discarded by their support system…rehab and soc. services need to reach out to those that need psych. help to get to the root of their issue…
