The following Notice was provided by Antioch City Clerk Arne Simonsen providing notice of the appointment process to fill the vacancy of City Treasure after the resignation of Donna Conley.
Notice is hereby given that the City of Antioch is accepting applications for appointment to City Treasurer to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of City Treasurer Donna Conley, effective July 31, 2018.
The term of the City Treasurer position is from the date of appointment to December, 2020.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, reside within the corporate limits of the City of Antioch, and be registered to vote in the City of Antioch at the time the application is issued.
Applications include: A Resume and a Letter of Interest not exceeding 400 words indicating interest, qualifications, background and other information useful for making an appointment; Nomination Papers with signatures of at least 20 but not more than 30 Antioch registered voters; and, a completed FPPC Form 700 “Statement of Economic Interests”.
Applications must be returned by 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 to the City Clerk.
At a regular meeting of the City Council on September 11, 2018, each approved applicant will be asked to make a 5-minute presentation to the City Council. The applicant may then be asked to respond to questions the City Council may have regarding their presentation or application. The order in which applicant will make their presentation will be determined by a random draw of all the applicant’s names. This random draw will take place at the meeting on September 11, 2018.
The City Council may make a decision at the regular meeting or may direct staff to place the matter on a future agenda for action.
