Updated: Vegetation Fire Grows to 25-Acres on Willow Pass Road in Concord

Just after 10:00 am Monday, Contra Costa County firefighters were dispatched to a report of a vegetation in the area of Willow Pass Road and Lynwood in the City of Concord.

It was first reported as a tree and brush on fire, but by 10:17 am, the fire was upgraded to a full vegetation response due to this being a “threat zone”.

By 10:22 am, it was reported at 2-acres on Federal Property with moderate spread.

UPDATE:
By 10:50 am, the fire had grown to 15-acres with no containment and structure protection was requested.

By 11:50 am, the fire had grown to 25-acres and 80% contained.

Someone is setting these fires! They don’t just start on their own! They are either tossing lit cigarettes or matches at this vegetation which should have been mowed down to stubble in the first place.
