Oakley Cityhood Celebration
The City of Oakley will host the annual Cityhood Celebration on Saturday, July 7th at the Freedom High School soccer basin located at the corner of Neroly Rd and O’Hara Ave. This event commemorates the anniversary of Oakley incorporating as a city in 1999 and also celebrates our nation’s Independence Day. The event starts at 6:00 p.m. Both admission and parking is FREE, however wristbands for unlimited use of children’s activities are $5. The wristbands are valid for all the activities on the upper and lower basin. Children ages 5 and under can receive a free wristband at the event. Wristband booths will be located on the walkway down from the school parking lot and also on the upper basin. Don’t wait in the long line though, as wrist bands are available for pre‐purchase at City hall now through July 5th. This year’s activities will include glitter tattoos, face painting, giant slides, obstacle courses, the popular mechanical shark and surfboard rides, rock climbing wall, and bounce houses. The food area has expanded this year to include food vendors on the upper basin as well as the main area. Food selections include: pizza, kettle corn, shaved ice, ice cream, frozen …
