Pittsburg Police Vehicle Struck During Pursuit into Antioch, Suspect at Large

by ECT

Just before 10:00 pm Friday, a Pittsburg Police pursuit entered the City of Antioch where a suspect fleeing from police rammed a Pittsburg Police vehicle and as many as two other vehicles.

It was reported that the vehicles were struck on Somersville Road near Delta Fair. The pursuit continued all the way to Cavallo Road and Wilbur where the subject then foot bailed and led to a multi-agency search.

Joining Antioch and Pittsburg Police in the search were officers from the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office and the Oakley Police Department as well as air support. They searched an apartment complex in the area which included the Lake Alhambra neighborhood as officers went door to door with two K9’s.

The subject was not located, however, he is known to law enforcement according to a source.

No other details were available Friday night.

The police say that “he” is known to them . But what is it that is leading them to believe that it was even a male in gender. I have very strong reasons to believe that it was a female behind that wheel. It was not a male driving at all. So,I beg to differ.

So, is this area (including the Romi’s general location) actually covered by ShotSpotter or not? We frequently hear gunshots (fireworks too, but definitely some gunshots) and are confused as to whether these should be called in. After the week we’ve all had, we really need to get our ducks in a row as to formulating an effective response.

Romi’s should be declared a nuisance business and shut down! Just driving past it heading for Lake Alhambra is unsafe. The City should go after them. It’s long overdue. How bad do things have to get?

If you live near Romi’s and you hear gun fire don’t bother calling the cops they will never come. Called many times and the useless 911 operator tells me it is just fireworks
